How to Prepare Delicious Mango sambar

Mango sambar. Raw Mango sambar i have tasted in my friend's house few years back, but somehow i didn't liked it. But i don't say she didn't make it nice, because mango sambar one of her signature. Raw Mango Sambar / Maanga Sambar is one of the most flavourful sambar recipes…Whenever I get raw mango either I use it for mango pachadi or make this sambar or very rarely use it for fish.

Ingredients of Mango sambar

  1. It's 2 tbsp of Oil.
  2. It's 1 tsp of Mustard seeds.
  3. Prepare 1 tsp of Fenugreek seeds.
  4. You need 1 tsp of Urad dal.
  5. You need of Curry leaves 1 sprig.
  6. You need of garlic cloves 5 nos.
  7. Prepare 1 tsp of Hing powder.
  8. You need of Red chilli 2 nos.
  9. You need of Green chilli 2 nos.
  10. It's of Onion 1 nos.
  11. It's of Tomato 1 nos.
  12. It's of Mango 1 nos.
  13. Prepare 1 cups of Toor dal.
  14. You need of Tamarind juice- small lemon size 1 nos.
  15. It's 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  16. Prepare 1 tsp of Chilli powder.
  17. It's 1 tbsp of Sambar powder.

I don't use a ton of veggies either but I can. There are numerous versions of sambar but this one is note worthy due to the magical sambar powder. How to Make Drumstick and Raw Mango Sambar. Add sambar powder and asafoetida on low flame stir for a minute till you get the fine aroma of the sambar powder.

Mango sambar instructions

  1. Wash toor dal and cook well in a pressure cooker along with 2 garlic, turmeric powder, green chilli, Hing powder and salt for 2 whistles..
  2. Soak a lemon sized tamarind in a water for 15 mins and take the juice..
  3. In a pan add oil, when it is hot add red chilli, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, urad dal,remaining garlic,Hing powder and Curry leaves. When spluttering add onions and tomato, mix it well and cook till it becomes mushy..
  4. Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder and sambar powder. Mix well till the raw smell goes..
  5. Add the cubed mango pieces and mix well to the masala..
  6. Now mash the cooked dal and add to the onion tomato masala..
  7. Keep the flame in medium low and cover it for 5 mins, mix it in between to avoid burning..
  8. Now extract the juice from the tamarind that is soaked in water and add to the dal. Add more water to this if you according to your consistency and let it boil for 15 mins in medium low..
  9. Now switch off and have the tasty mango sambar with hot steamed rice..
